Bwahaha.
Nothing like a bit of Bono bashing....
Sting bashing was quite prevalent too in the late 80s on account of his little ditties on his album covers.....use to grate with a lot of men of his generation as I recall.
Geldof is another self righteous arsehole...
A good read, thanks.
Good old Terence.
Still rocking 'The Marx' after all these years.
Marx is relevant to being a freeloading sack of crap who ran up bills on another persons tab, which is the basis of all his "theory" really. Not to much else.
Are we talking about Karl or Groucho?
Had never heard of Terry Eagleton. He's like Eric Hobsbawm but with more houses?
He did like jazz, but probably not because of its freedom and democratic values inherent in the form.
Bono
"Every time I clap my hands, a child dies." "Then stop fucking doing it!" yelled a voice from the crowd.
Classic. And that was from a fan.
That may be so Bishop, but no worse than the hatchet job The Independent did on Chris de Burgh last year, and Shane MacGowan a couple of weeks later. In any event, Bono is a cant and the evidence was there from the start, for anyone who dares to watch U2's Under A Blood Red Sky on remastered DVD in 5.1 surround sound from the benefit of hindsight there was very little going for this flabby pretentious little rock singer.
Except fame and fortune of course.
Hmmm, a good question, that never occured to me.
My predictive text occasionally reaches the conclusion I am writing about U2.
The phone must be actually programmed to make that choice as I have never texted anyone about that lousy band. Faintly disturbing.
I have the same problem with Throbbing Gristle, for some reason!
