Great song.  STUPID video.  Yet somehow still cool.

Unfortunately "old" Puch is dead... But here in Austria there is no problem getting your hands on one - used and cheap. Postmen used them for decades...

Re: Ivy Motorcycling

A couple of weeks ago Mrs Woof was kind enough to treat me to a day out riding ex Houston Police Harley Davidson Road Kings. The interesting thing was that all the bikes were different, in many cities American motorcycle cops have a personal motorcycle, they get an allowance to buy it and can spec it to suit their own preferences.

I'm not in the video but it gives a flavour of the day I had.

Re: Ivy Motorcycling

I did see a couple of Heinkels late 70s and jeez....they did look totally insane next to a Vespa or Lammy...

I was an altar boy for years of course so sitting with my legs together was ingrained from an early age...

Re: Ivy Motorcycling

When I was younger, I saw a few Heinkel Tourist scooters. They appear larger and plumper than Italian machines. Still have some fans here.

I've got a book about German scooter makers, amazing how many brands once existed. All gone and forgotten by now. There must have been scooter manufacturers in other countries, like the UK, too.

My mother had a NSU Lambretta in the 50s. It was licensed from Innocenti to NSU for the German market.

Re: Ivy Motorcycling

Yeah, know that. I never will understand why on earth they took a Vespa. A motorbike would be much better in the field?

^Except for the fact you can run lots of bikes and scoots on a provisional. I almost wiped out a kid with L plates on a modern scooter on Friday. He was so close to going under my wheels that I saw his eyes bulging out of his skidlid. Silly boy...
