Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

According to the Keydge... I again saw one on an old fart on casual friday. Here you have to be at least 60 and working for the government to wear a Keydge. They wear them (I mean the cotton and linen ones) preferably with open necked shirts (of course no BDs) and jeans... Since I have my BB Brookslinen jacket I really find that better. I also found a vintage slack sack jacket of Austrian origin (very different to a Keydge, but serves a very similar purpose) that looks -  to me - far more interesting... A sports jacket that could easily be called " Continental Ivy" as it is for sure a sack because of the Ivy heyday in the early 60s wink

And, to support Thee Captain: after finding a really cheap but nice french chore jacket... This is nice, too and a real alternative to Keydge smile

Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

Went to my weekly night out at  the village vanguard last night - sported high rise jpress chinos, brooks blue ocbd, green Paul stuart knit tie and a navy all cotton JKey. The lady club manager at the front door saw me and and said to the young and pretty waitres "he nailed down that Look" then gave me and my friend one of the best seats in the joint - right in front of the quartet.

There were other cats wearing blazers and i even saw an ivy sack, but that jkey just gives out a really cool cassual vibe and yet is smart enough to feel just right. Never overdressed, or out of place... I love my vintage pendletons but I preffer my jkeys. And I love the fact they fit me better than anything else I have.

l would've asked you kindly, but firmly, to please leave. And then I would have shouted something derogatory about the French at you, as you made your way out.

Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

Some confusion here about what a Keydge is and what it isn't. Plus much fuss about its price.

It's a one off. It isn't really comparable with anything else out there.

To say you'd rather have a proper 3/2 Sack is fine. It's got nothing to do with Keydge though.

Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

I think there is some confusion between the topsman and the topster. Id agree the topster doesnt wear like a blazer. But a topsman fits the same gap a keydge tries to fill a lot better.

On a side thou I'm not sure where people get off about being bastions of the look and the details and then think these are ok in the context of 'the look'. If you're gonna say how prep and trad get it so wrong. I'd add the Keydge in there too.

Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

See my rebuttal! There is better out there to serve the non 3/2 wearers. They're cheaper and the look more American than continental. They strike me more of that soft igenty Italian look with lowrise white jeans and a linen scarf.. no thanks.

Re: It's Key ! It's got the Edge !

I've a couple of Topsman's but don't see 'em as a Keydge alternative either for the record..

(Actually - Please see previous reiteration...this post will be redundant as soon as I hit "submit"....)

Good to have you "with us" SS2.0 ha ha...
