Re: Hiut Denim Co.

Been on my radar for a while. I like to try on a pair before I buy.

My selvedge jeans are from Oliver Brown - made in England (Bolton) and only £75.

Well, at least with these from Hiut you know they designed the coin pocket around the Pear Shaped 5.

Historytag?  Detailed washing instructions?

Whatever happened to buying a pair of Levi's, wearing them and then throwing them away when they got worn out?

I feel old.

That's cool.  I'm not anti hipster jeans by any stretch of the imagination, especially if it gives a shot in the arm to a local business.  It just seems like the whole jeans thing is getting too complicated for what are essentially work pants.

Re: Hiut Denim Co.

I'm giving up cellphones for cigarettes. Cheaper and cooler.  I smoke a pack of Carltons per week. $50 versus $95 per month. Undoubtably one looks much cooler smoking than looking at a phone. Every dork in the world is eyeing their phone these days while smoking continues to disappear from public space. As my mentor in trading once said, "everyone is always wrong. Never mind that absolute statements are also almost always wrong."

And I am sick to death of jeans. I never found them more comfortable than other types of pants. My Black and Brown chinos are much more comfortable and about 1/5 the price of fancy ass denim. I'm not prospecting for gold. I wear a pencil above my ear.

I have a pair of the slim fit in Turkish (i.e. non-selvedge) denim. Bulletproof construction and the company is a pleasure to deal with.

'Contemporary' fit, mind. The Jeans Must Reach My Navel Crew will be disappointed.
