By the riverbank again today, all hunched over looking like an abandoned pile of corduroy and canvas. Perch & Roach mainly... I get them dressed for the table by a little man in town...
Any help with making the bastards taste palatable ?
We've been making risottos with them mainly and piling on a lot of sauces on top. They still taste kinda 'pondy' though...
... Mrs Topstitcher is very dismissive about my tackle... Mainly it's the smell. I have taken over the cupboard under the stairs as a 'rod room'... Next door is my very own lavatory - Quite literally a Water Closet: It's a cupboard with a loo in it, about the size of a wardrobe and an original Victorian feature of the house. We call it 'Vagas' because the flush is not to be trusted - Far too often what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...
I'll get it fixed.
But then I'll have to re-name the loo...
Any thoughts ?
Thanks.
Turn 'em loose.
I haven't kept a fish in years, except for bluegills caught through the ice. Fish caught out of water warmer than about 60 degrees F are less than delicious. All the trout I catch get returned to the creek. I've caught some of them so many times they greet me by name.
Wise words.
Fishing again today with a chum (No work until Sunday - Hurrah!). I think I'll start to stop baiting my hook. The fish really ruin my fishing.
Back in the bookshop today & then a day's fishing tomorrow. Some say there is Trout up by the bridge.... I hope they have the good manners to leave me alone. One of those pesky Perch tugging on my line nearly made me spill my drink the other day...
I've settled on cable knits and cords for the riverbank.
I really need to mow my lawn tomorrow. Maybe I'll use my red Snapper mower.
