Mmmm...the man who started the first northern soul club on Mars, the infamous Red Spot Casino Club...tempting. Whats the maximum luggage weight?

They don't need plumbers. There's no water on Mars.

If a bricklayer can lay a brick why can't a plumber lay a plum?

All that those Martian colonists are going to achieve is to replicate the graft, corruption and stench that exists on earth. If you're really committed to getting off this crime and cop ridden planet, like William Burroughs says, you have to make the evolutionary jump into hyper-space.

Re: Getting the hell outta Dodge!

I wouldn't bet on Flinkenflögel, I think she may be something like a bait who changes her mind just a few hours before takeoff. Flögels sometimes are flink like that.

Had a short glimpse on the people. To me, those who are NOT Indian (Which are the minority), look a bit...disturbing. Nothing which would make me  sleep comfortably when I knew they were awake, doing their things. I surely would bring some strings and bells to secure my bed.

But hey, maybe I could kill them all, one by one when they are asleep. They gotta have to sleep those buggers, especially when they drink my special orange juice. I've got enough fairy dust to keep me alerted for days.  Fnar fnar fnar. And then it's going to be nice trip with the remaining ladies. Only would have to secure them when I sleep. You never know whom they actually fancied and if they tell you the truth when they say they love you to get their little breakfast.

Just send my application, anyone join me?

Re: Getting the hell outta Dodge!

No real good has ever come of exploring, pushing the boundaries, forging new frontiers. Nothing but trouble caused by trouble makers ensues.

Leave Mars alone. Don't let it become another America or Australia. Stay at home. Leave things be.

Swindon is still on my mind... It never used to exist you know. Now it does. And what have we gained ?

Learn from Swindon.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love... And a jolly good kick up the harris.

Re: Getting the hell outta Dodge!

Ah, Liam, no need to worry. We surely would get along pretty well. Think about it, the first ship claims the best places on Mars.

Not sure about this boundary thing. I think, it would be nice to have my own realm on Mars, populated by me and the ladies. And Liam, if he changes his mind. Maybe there ARE small Martians still living underground who have something valuable which we can take from them and sell to earth? Must ask FF if the ship is gunned and if we carry enough weapons and ammo. We could save space and weight by reducing the food, hence we will not need THAT much after "the nightshift".

OK, the women and the idea of stealing from Martians has convinced me.

History is replete with warnings about being the first voyage or group of explorer-settlers. Remember what happened at Roanoke, Darien, and Swindon.

Nothing happened at Swindon. It just looks like something did.

Poor Swindonians. Or is it Swindonites?

Re: Getting the hell outta Dodge!

Sure, there is a saying "Den ersten der Tod, den zweiten die Not, den dritten das Brot" which means death for the first, hardship for the second, bread for the third (generation).

But food will not be problem after Liam and I completed our nightshift (at least I hope he's going to help me a bit and brings a big old cushion from home). For the Martians we'll have modern guns. And who knows, maybe they like glass pearls? The weak part of the plan is that it presumes that Martians are small. What if they are big, mean and angry because of hanging around under the surface for ages?

Maybe it's an good idea to send a team of women there first. For example those who can't cook? smile
