Someone should set out the pros and cons of this whole matter and also the possibility of an annual Chensvold award for something or other.

Re: Chris Chensvold Appreciation Thread

I personally think chens is one of the best dressed menswear writers/bloggers out there. Forgetting the purist approach on here I think chens has managed to fuse in recent times ivy and modern menswear. Sometimes at the detriment of idealism.. but I think the shoots he has done for free and easy are actually in quite good taste compared to the nightmare editorials you see out of NYC.

As for the person well imagine how neurotic youd be after 5 years of baiting by the talented mr mellor.

Also it brings me onto another point jim claims success for chens. But its only as chens stepped away from pure ivy did we find someone able to create a style that is actually a very good balance. Which he did himself with his own taste. Sometimes he got it a bit off but like say with soggy qho strikes a balance between old and new, sometimes he got it right.. it wasnt ivy but it had a root in it and it looked better than 95 % than the other stuff out there.

Im too devoted to the vintage side of things to care whether im throw back or not but chens offers something with his style that I think is actually very interesting in terms of modern menswear.  He went wrong claiming it ivy.. I dont think he needed to it stands up on its own as its own thing.

For a second I thought you were talking about the sweater.  Then I remembered that sicko's fetish.

Re: Chris Chensvold Appreciation Thread

I will say that I feel bad about ignoring Chens when he contacted me about being his stand in for those Japanese ivy mag shoots.  He doesn't look half bad in them though.

Re: Chris Chensvold Appreciation Thread

Anyway my point is reconsider chens away from ivy and you have a good example of how men could dress if they had some sense. Instead of this shrink fit Italian no sock shit

I'd piss on Chenners if he was on fire, but only on the areas not alight.
