The primary purpose of clothes is, probably, to keep us warm and, since the adoption of the fig-leaf in Eden, to keep us decent - in public. The primary aim of clothiers and blogs and boards and style-gurus is to persuade us that Clothes are The Thing in Life. CLOTHES are about status and indications of wealth. Any dickhead can be well-clothed - just put yourself in the capable hands of any tailor, cobbler, haberdasher, out-fitter and use your loaf. After all, if the Kray Bros could manage it, it cannot all really be much about intellectual or moral superiority or aesthetics. Moreover, look at Einstein - a proud, vestimental train-wreck. And that hair!
