(WM good to see the leather patch can be grubbed off - about the chewing - I hadn't really given it much thought - do you get  down on the floor and hold it with your hands and growl at people? Or do you do that funny American thing where you cut food up on the plate then swap the fork over to the right hand and then spear and shovel it in?)

Those cowboy jeans, just like WM is wearing them are the ones that were available here in Middle Europe back in the early 1960s... Cowboy Jeans! No Levi's, just rigid denim Wranglers. And Lee - but mostly in ivory white, not too much indigo ones. My father and several others that were teens in the early 60s told me that... They were worn without turnups (at least here in Austria), not highwater either (just above the shoe), with sneakers or desert boots...
