I recently saw an older gentleman in a navy three-piece, with a gold watchchain.
Greetings gentlemen. It's my first post in this neck of the woods.
I think that the versatility of the three piece suit in our age has been severely underestimated. I think that they are de rigeur in any situation where you might be tempted to take off the coat inside the office. For example, if your office is overheated then it is acceptable to remove the coat provided you have a waistcoat on underneath. The waistcoat is doubly important if you are inclined to wear brace trousers, so as not to walk around with the braces showing.
Do people wear odd vests in situations where they're probably going to be taking off their jackets?
It's an interesting look and potentially a good way to try out wearing a vest if you're not ready to commit but if I ever took my jacket off, I think I'd look like Chloe O'Brien a couple of seasons ago.
But it's something I've seem done so rarely that I really don't know how it would look. Do people just treat odd vests like sweater vests?
