Love Lou Reed. Sad to see him go. He's one of those guys you reckon would have been dead years ago, but now figured is immortal. Kinda like Keith Richards.

I expected this at any moment to be honest, compared to the junkie musicians of the modern jazz era, who had had hepatitis like Reed, he had outlived them all age wise. It was surprising he qualified for a liver transplant, in fact he didn't, the money came into it.

I'm a kinda' fan, but the Velvet Underground re-editions are too much and marketing as the band that nobody listened to, except those who went on to form punk bands is over played and false.

He also chastised The Talking Heads in the mid-70s for dressing all Preppy and instigated a photo-shoot with them in leopard skins. Still, I forgive him, as he was doing this at the same time:

Metal Machine Music has to be one of the worst records ever conceived.

Fuckin terrible.

Too much of a smack head for me, he did records some gems though, as said.
