Eeeeewwwww.
That's bad, formby, real bad. Like the worst thing ever since the Holocaust.
^ Holy shit.
Anyway as for Lou, I think8nk he was someone who carried his music well. The velvets could even cope with nico being added. John cale and lou worked brilliantly together especially on songs for drella. There was a good balance between style and substance with lou. The attitude had to be right for the music to work as well as it did. There was a marked difference between the superficialness of Warhol and the absolute sincerity of Lou Reed that really worked for me.
It seems to me that perhaps Lou didn't evolve the classic Art Rock Dog look of shades, black T and leather jacket until after Andy Wharhol. Maybe Andy devised it or it emerged from that environment. From memory thats how Andy dressed initially prior to adopting the Levis, white BB BD, rep tie and Navy Blazer trademark. And just as Andy's look suited him and no one else with tie , blazer and jeans ever looks cool - so does no-one over 30 who adopts the shades, black leather jacket and T looks as good as Lou did either. (except perhaps The Ramones) _ I have heard stories of some Ramones wearing wigs onstage and suits off. And another iconic - in the true meaning of an icon look - Iggy wearing tailored suits off stage .
