The total sensory experience of pulling on a fresh white T shirt over your head.

Re: Reasons to be Cheerful...

The drone of a distant lawnmower as you sit back doing absolutely nothing in the sun...

My daughters laughter

Seeing her put away her toys instead of destroying everything within reach

Watching her learn something new

Re: Reasons to be Cheerful...

Tooling around for half an hour trying to find a free residents parking bay….

Listening to a speech by British health minister Patricia Hewitt…

Finding at 3.30 am that  the  lorazepam bottle is empty…

Feeling that the waistband of a favourite pair of pants is too tight then recalling that the waist has already been taken out to the maximum….

Being called granddad by Britain’s feral youth when trying to get them to take feet of Underground seats so that I could sit…

Calculating to the nearest round number the multiple of units of alcohol I consume per week compared to the Government recommendation…

Knowing that I will never again be looked at appraisingly by a woman of any age…

Feeling worse after yoga sessions than before…

Spending a half hour going through all the pages of an airline website then finding the submit button produces nothing…

Reading the names of the Russian oligarchs and hedge fund managers in the “Sunday Times Rich List”…

(I hope I got the hang of this thread correctly)

Being hopeful is a good way to stay cheery.

As the mercury climbs toward 20C along the northwest shore of Lake Ontario ...

Mourning Dove hatchlings in the nest on your Giant vibrator sink windowsill.

Red and white cherry blossom petals on the hood of your car.

Cigars after dinner without freezing.

Dropping a coconut, out the window.

Opening the Obit column in the paper every morning and not seeing my name there.

Re: Reasons to be Cheerful...

The smell of freshly popped Pop Corn...

A newly opened bottle of wine...

The laughter from someone you love...

Something you ordered on line arriving early in the mail...

A movie that's better then you anticipated...

A country road that reveals a town forgotten by time...

Re: Reasons to be Cheerful...

Having been born healthy with no congenital defects.

Having been fortunate enough to grow up in a peaceful country.

Being reasonably intelligent.

Waking up well rested from a sound sleep after dropping a coconut out the window.
