I may be wrong but aren't Kiton shoes sold for about 2K? That's a bit more than 2/3 of the price of top English custom shoes.
As regards the quality of Kiton shoes, I was paraphrasing the opinion of a person whose expertise in shoes is way beyond that of any forum poster, myself included.

Maybe Kiton did change their production model to cope with increased volumes? I can tell at least some of their shoes are Goodyear welted these days.
Not that I have an agenda against Kiton shoes, but, I wanted to add, how a shoe ranks against another is not limited to what parts are machine made or not. There are many other variables, starting from the raw materials used and craftsmanship -- including how skillfully machines are controlled.

I'd suppose San Fransisco is simply a large enough city that it has a demographic that doesn't worry about how much things cost, as long as the service is right and they get what they want.
^ They are always backwards, on Andyland.
They want tight shirts, but baggy pants.
However the classic look was baggy shirts & slim pants.
Why the inversion?
