Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Quick update on this years nominees for the Golden Wang Awards:

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83650

Post #14 has my close personal Internet friend Alden P. giving us a look which is more Bourbon than G&T perhaps. One for the Winter Wangs I think, A.P., Marmer still leads.

However - Post 20 has whn serving up a real Missouri mixed-up Masala - Competition for Marmer at last! Is it really a Summer look though? Maybe like A.P. this is more of a Winter Wanger too.

So Marmer still leads!

- Come on you Trads, it's Wang time - I urge you all to enter yourselves as soon as possible.

J.

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Hey Jim--

I have great affection for AAAT, but its interests and mine have increasingly diverged to the point that I haven't posted over there in weeks.  I'm a lot more interested in keeping up with Patrick, Longwing, Tucker, etc. on their blogs.

Instead of writing some tearful valedictory speech a la Topbroker (who was, IMO, a tremendous drip and gushing fountain of unintentional comedy), I thought I'd use the opportunity of the latest Wangdoodle to present a sort of "graduate thesis" on my version of the Look, shaped in large part by my time there.  I'll put up a bunch of pictures and quietly bow out.

I'll never badmouth the place.  The administrators and members have always been extremely kind and friendly to me, and it's been fun and interesting, mostly.  Time to move on, though.

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

This is not meant as a dig at anyone ,in particular.  But these recent pics make me realise how low brow that place is.  Maybe it was always that way and I just didn't notice, I don't know. I feel myself beginning to slip away from the Trad, ever so slightly.

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Ummmmm - It isn't called Trad.

Trad is only AAAT.

It's that 'Marmer' look.

Re: Awesome Post of the Day

Is Trad just another four letter word for Soul?  My interest in clothes, food, cars, women, etc are that they all transcend time and fashion.  They play well through the years while the vapid and mind numbing crap foisted upon us changes, like People Magazine, every week.  I'm not really about Trad as much as I am about whether it has soul.

By the way...good to be here.
