Re: Sarkozy

The other candidate, Royal,  was more moderate and very pretty. It wouldve been an interesting period in French History. Have they ever had a female ruler?

Re: Sarkozy

I hate the constant gap between the tie and the top button.  Even if everything else is on point (which it isn't), this alone makes the Sarkozy appear sloppy.  Though I must say, I saw him wearing my go-to combination earlier today (navy suit, light blue shirt, navy tie) and it looked great (though the gap was still present).

FNB, I agree.  Royal was a hotty.  Plus it would have been great for France to have a leader who proudly has 4 kids with a guy she's not married to.  It's so European -- plus it would never happen in America, not in a billion years.  We can't even elect a married woman.  Though maybe we'll be able to elect a Black guy (who was the chief of the Harvard Law Review -- though his intellect may scare us Americans -- we like to elect regular folk, or at least those who pretend to be regular folk by being photographed while chopping trees down, etc.)

At the end of the day, too many French companies are leaving France to continue with this fantasy of never working and getting shitloads of benefits.  Sarkozy comes from gritty eastern European roots and I think that the French thought, hey, we can have our cake and eat it too.  He's the child of non-Arab immigrants, so we can adopt him as our own, but he'll still bring that roll-your-sleeves-up eastern European mentality which we never had but hope to develop within the confines of a 40 hour work week (baby steps, baby steps).

Where were we?

Oh yeah, Sarkozy's clothes.  Like I said, he needs to step his game up.  Marc, set him up with some Raphael/Mimmo hookups so this guy can stop looking so schleppy.

Cheers.

Re: Sarkozy

I love those color schemes.  Esp. in the first pic that Grayson posted.  That grey, blue, black is fantastic.

Yeah, Sego ain't bad looking.  She was good at the volleying back-and-forth of men who complimented her at her rallies.  I couldn't imagine an American female politician (or non-politician) being so adept.  There's a lot to be said for French women.

I like a lot of what Sarkozy has to say.  I was living in Paris during the riots and it was interesting to hear the comments in the cafes.

That said, it may horrify most people that I tend to think the French work ethic to be rather civilized.
