Joseph Abboud "American Soft"

The other day I happened to be looking through the suits at Nordstroms and came across something called Joseph Abboud "American Soft" line.  I had never heard of this before and I immediately thought of the FNB message board.  The coat had no padding in the shoulders and fit a bit boxier than what I was normally used to but that was what I had expected/hoped.  I suppose I had better get to the question...

Has anyone ever heard of this before?  What is the story behind it (besides marketing)?  Also, *grins* would this "american soft" line actually represent traditional American style?

The only pictures I could find of it are here:

Re: Joseph Abboud "American Soft"

I think posters on AskAndy would probably know more about this.

Probably, I was just curious if anyone here had any opinion on this style and if it was befitting of its name.

Re: Joseph Abboud "American Soft"

From what I've read, Abboud was an admirer of the Brooks look way back when.  I also think his path crossed with old Ralph at some point.
