Anyone seen Straight Outta Compton yet?
Watched it at the weekend and enjoyed it - being 15/16 when that record came out along with a lot of other influential albums of the time, I feel lucky to have been a kid at that time, akin to those of my age when punk etc broke.

Big pimpin - Dogg Pound
Tom - I kind of want to see it. I got heavy into rap about '88. I was 9. My favorite song that year was probably Life is Too Short, by Too Short followed closely by BDP records and EPMD.
I remember how it all began...

Stan - Biz Markie had a big influence on me.
While I am a fan of hip-hop from all over. I have always had a specialized interest in a few areas. Queensbridge has always been one of those places.

Peace to the Hilltop Hustlers and a taste of Cadbury goes out to Yo! FNB Raps.
Goldie Lookin Chain really did some nice beats... your missus is a nutter with the gainsbourg guitar riff was great
And dragon taxis with the souls of mischief taxi riff was great
It's too bad 'Taxi' (aka 'Cab Fare') never made the album because it's straight up classic material; they couldn't get the Bob James sample cleared. Let me lace you with another (very) rare jewel from Hiero's resident linebacker. Peace to Geoff Barrow and Lalo Schifrin.

Corbyn is in and the Gunners had a good result..a good day to be red.
Lots of good records being played. Shout out to everybody that keeps this thread jumping.
Stan - Thanks for sharing. NY is like its own world. Especially when it comes to hip-hop. I can't tell you how much I learned from the L- Lifes in terms of rocking gear, I loved Boot Camp Click ( and I guess that would include Deceptz by default) when they were doing their thing, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Dipset's early 2000 run.
On a side note, I am not a huge Fat Joe fan, but I remember him talking about battling his friends as a kid back in Soundview with KRS-One lyrics in an old Source magazine. That still gets me open. I bet seeing Joe in the Bronx would be mad wild. TS is thick.
