I remember being given a DAT of the then unreleased (and about to be rejected by his label) 'Modernism: A New Decade' and believe it or not 'Promised Land' was the one of the better tracks, the rest of the album was truly shocking.

In contrast I was lucky enough to spend my college years living around Salford, Manchester between 1986 and 1989 and despite the damp, mice, poverty they were happy times until the thugs began to mess it all up.
The final nail in the House coffin for me was Mr. Weller and a return back home to Hull.
