Hmmmmmm - Not American Trad though is it?

I wonder if that matters?

Re: A call to real Trads:

I like the user Doctor Damage's response to this thread on corduroy jackets.  I'm of the opinion that the jacket should stop at the shoulder, though I know some really old wearers of the Ivy style who posit that they like it just  past the shoulder with an ever so slight "droop".  I can tolerate the "droop" and even got it on my last jacket, provided the padding is not excessive.  When it is excessive, it just makes the look more horrible.  At least to my sense of aesthetics.

Re: A call to real Trads:

The jacket posted here, http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showpost.php?p=602277&postcount=3
has all the right details.  Lower patch flap.  Lapped seams.  (I wonder if it has a hooked vent?) 3/2 roll.  Natural shoulder.  Maybe slightly "over" the shoulder itself.  But I'm starting to like that.  Too bad it's probably junky quality.  You could do worse than this for fall.  I just spent a small fortune getting a quality one made up like this.

Hey guys--

Brownshoe here.  Unable to log in and too impatient to figure out why, so I registered under a different name (my real one).

I bought one of those BB cord sacks in olive last year.  It's just about perfect.

Re: A call to real Trads:

Goes great with everything: Semi-dressed up with flannels or kicking back with khakis.
You can even mix & unmatch other colours & wales of cord with it (with care) for that academic boho look.
Very versatile.

Love the scene in Quiz Show where RF is having lunch outside at his parent's place and they're all sitting around that wooden table out in the garden. His Pa just looks great.
A lot of charm in that film.

Re: A call to real Trads:

Yes, the Brooks shoulders on the cotton sacks mentioned are far superior to Press's--I can't see how they could be improved.

However, the shoulders on BB's tweed/other wool sacks are worse.  Big and horizontal.
