Re: Shetlands

I got a O'Connells shetland from eBay today, I followed the advice on the site and sized up, from 40 to 42, and the shirt is too big for me. Otherwise it's a great sweater! Hope that they will drop the price so I can get one.

Re: Shetlands

Ivyists on a budget: uniqlo has shetland copies for 12.50 gbp on sale. Saddle shoulder, ribbed in the right places (ooer), heavy knit. 75/25 lambs wool/poly.

Lots of Shetlands that look authentic on amazon uk around 45-50 quid, has anyone tried these? What's the fit like?

Re: Shetlands

I'm selling - or rather I've been trying to sell - a Spirit of Shetland sweater in Salmon. I'm asking £50, worn only a few times, so almost new condition.
I think it's still in the swap & sell section, though it's been there some time!
I've just checked, and it's on page 13, with pix and measurements if anyone is interested.

Re: Shetlands

Those are fine looking Shetlands, Jeff.

I recommend someone picks up that salmon one off Uncle Ian.  I've purchased two Shetlands from him and was very pleased with each.

Re: Shetlands

^ I'm popping into town tomorrow so will check them out 'in the flesh/wool'.
The colours look good online and OiPolloi are normally pretty good at 'colour representation' on their site so fingers crossed they'll be a winner.

Re: Shetlands

Jeff - When you ordered your Spirits did you provide measurements or just ask for S,M, L? I want to order one, but I never like providing measurements. Too much responsibility!

Re: Shetlands

I reckon they'll do you fine. I think O'Connell's and Leith use Jamieson wool for theirs, and Harley's is different - but still a nice buy. I'm actually thinking of selling a few if you're interested.
