Finamore is actually Italian-based. Like Battistoni, Finamore these days really aren't what they used to be.
Brioni, Zegna, and Loro Piana are also, of course, Italian-based.
Is Smalto really a shirtmaker?
Before discovering Jermyn street and H&K I tried 3 shirt maker/sellers :
1) Liste rouge = A total failure, they don't make bespoke and are not capable to make a good shirt
First shirt had an honrizontal tension line under the throat from should to shoulder, a broken thread in the fabric on the COLLAR, had too short sleeves.
The salesman told me that he would make a second shirt and that I could keep the first one.
When I came to pick the 2d shirt, it was only slightly better and a 2d salesman told me that he refused to give me the 1st shirt for free.
So I cancelled and theyr refunded me. They told me that they were not able to fix the bar.
2) Courtot = Only fair
I asked no front (the zone with the button holes on the front), got a shirt with a front and tiny tears in the fabric on the front because of a tool they used. I had again the tension from the shoulders to the throat.
They modified the shirt but left tiny holes on the shoulders (fabric was end to end French blue)
Some threads are hanging in the inside but the global construction is not bad.
For the price, I can get 3 H&K on sale so I never went again.
3) Kees van beers = AVOID
Took 3 months to get a more or less wearable shirt that had been sent back to the factory at least 4 times. Eventually the collar was too large, I had to threaten the silly dutch of a law suit to get my money back.
I'll see what I can do. The fabric choices at Charvet are just short of overwhelming, which is very nice. Lilac seems to be very popular these days. I ordered a white shirt in chevron twill to wear at informal weddings and the like.
Another one, similar to Courtot (small operation, friendly contact, prices around 180 - 200 Euros):
