Your legs are very effectively hidden behind the kit... I like LE's stone colored chinos a lot. I just ordered some blue Keds to supplement my white ones... I've gotta get that Curt from American Graffiti look going on haha... Love the aloha shirt too, I've really expanded my collection this summer... Great 50s color, like a T-Bird...
I am indeed, and 60s Zildjian is the way I do it too... Looks like a swanky gig, I used to play three hour gigs every week next to the pool at a nice hotel near the Bush compound in Kennebunkport ME in the summers, got paid way too much to do way too little, those were the days...

Sounds like a great gig. Any gig paying me at least $20 per hour (when factoring in load-in, set-up, actual playing time, break-down and then load-out) is fine with me. Unfortunately they don't all pay that at the moment. You still play gigs?
When I can... Not to the level I did a few years ago, I lived in a town/area with a great jazz community, a lot of great venues and players... Hopefully I can find another place like that soon!

It's a Hilo Hattie.
I finally stopped by The Full Kit downtown: http://www.thefullkit.com/ There's much more than what's shown on the site.
They have a lot of good stuff in the West Coast surfer ivy way. Huge load of old school sneaks. Nice hats.
I couldn't resist a simple snap-button navy Vans nylon competition jacket for $50.
I will be dropping more coin here.

However, there's this weird microscopic crease in the fabric of the inside of the jacket. Should I return it? Ha. Ha.
I'm rereading "The Nearest Far Away Place-Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys and the Southern California Experience" by Timothy White. Here's his account of how they first came up with their wardrobe in 1962 "Before the show, the guys visited haberdasher Gene Ronald's fashionably conservative shop on North Main St. in Santa Ana, the only truly Ivy League clothing outlet in Orange County. Ronald, who also had a shop on the USC campus, was a serious fan of West Coast jazz and dressed clients such as Cary Grant in the natural shoulder Ivy look - the pinnacle of California cool for hipsters from jazz saxophonist Gerry Mulligan to Santa Ana's own Chantays of " Pipeline" instrumental surf roar renown. Ronald spied the Wilson's hanging around the tie rack in the shirt department and learned they wanted 'something Ivy league' for the Rendezvous show. He sold them matching navy blue Gant 'popover' short sleeve shirts - smart and sporty accents to their tight white chino pants"
Easily the best BB's book I've read Bop. 400 pages of in depth details.
/\ loved the The Nearest Far Away Place, I still give a slight edge to Steven Gaines's Heroes & Villains ...... have Nearest Far Away Place in hardcover though ......
missing California so much right about now .... summer in Cali is where it's at ..... goin' back to Cali, to Cali. to Cali, I really think so ......
messed up my #1 Birdwells a bit today with zinc oxide .... maybe time for a new pair ..... what color should I get?
going to call them up in the next couple of days, now I want to see what the new Birdwell can really do, for me ...
Would explain the similarities between the look Gerry Mulligan had and the Beach Boys
