Wasn't familiar with this conspiracy theory, and initially i laughed. I don't believe McCartney is dead but there does seem to be some hidden messages and odd symbolism contained with Beatles film and Lp artwork.

I find it weird someone so squeeky clean as PMc was into Crowley... I mean who hasnt been into the occult at some point? But Paul? Just doesn't seem right

Ive read a lot about the occult in terms of its influence on Nazism.. and a bit about Crowley...but not because I am an occultist or Nazi. For me it is more a case of rubber necking and knowing your enemy I guess...and Im sure PMc couldve just been into it on that level..but it seems to be a case from his interview he may have adopted some of the practices..Im not sure if that's just for effect I reckon it couldve been..but how spun out did these guys get is a question only they can answer. I think the idea can become very seductive for some people especially those that want power or control over others.
Ive talked about magic and alchemy before in terms of the plastic arts I can see the appeal of getting into something on that level..but beyond that it goes too dark too quickly for me..
Give me a good Taoist text and Im happy.
Imagine there's no heaven...
theres something on radio 4 about the dark aquarius, late 60s 70s pop culture flirtation with the occult
this Saturday. May be interesting
and you all need to have a look at The Strange But Mostly True Story Of Laurel Canyon ... woooooooooooooooooooooo spooky : )
Thanks Charlie, sounds interesting. What time is that on?
The dangers of Reiki are that you pay 50 quid to some one to wave their hands over you FOR NO REASON.
Honestly, this all such bollocks - conjuring demons, spirits, spells - get a fucking grip!
I personally have a firm grasp on reality thanks harpo lol. In my case i'm simply relaying relevant information from an author/s written works.
Does that mean I believe everything I read? Well no obviously not.
As I said I find it interesting from a psychological standpoint, as I find your funny but slight over reaction to the thread :-)
Yes, well I wasn't referring to your initiation of the thread, it may well be interesting from a psychological point of view to you. I was referring to some of the subsequent posts. Educated grown-ups, in the 21st Century maintaining that such things are real - fuck me (I discount Shooey, as he's on another planet anyway).
In relation to what you perceive as my slight "over reaction" - this is the problem with this sort of nonsense. People blithely tout this mumbo-jumbo as real and don't like it when they get taken to task. But....... it's bollocks.
To make a further point on what I feel is being symbolised is largely draw from a very broad definition of energy/vibrations and the symbolism we have for it..
Ie. The universe appears to be just a large collection of energy operating at different frequencies and wave lengths..we act in the frequencies we observe..but there are many higher and lower frequencies as well as creative and destructive forces..which Hinduism and Buddhism discuss..
So my view is basically in this system what is import is the maintaining of balance and this is do by all things being communicated to.. who is to say that negative frequencies or demons as others call them are literally just communication to us that we symbolise in the imagery of how we experience them. .often in altered states.
What's thats my theory I dont think its literal stuff but I think what drives it is the idea of univeral balance.
