For the London Ivyist..
If JS wasnt the main haunt where else would you spend your hard earned pennies..?
John Rushton covers shoes at least..
Not a lot to choose from really ,Uniqlo for socks of-course.
There really isn't anything else in there that interests the likes of me.
There are a few shops down Shoreditch way like Present and The Brokedown Palace which have some bits and pieces.
Filson, Red Wing and Cinch are just behind Carnaby Street and then you're round the corner from Brooks Bros and Orvis on Regent Street.
American Classics in Covent Garden is always worth a look as well.
YMC throw up the odd item that is good, lots of decent denim suppliers too.
OiPolloi are now open in soho for that casual vibe, not been yet - but the manchester store was always great.
Beyond Retro and Rokkit throw out the odd decent find. Stuarts can be good for basics. Plus there are a few decent labels with flagship stores about.
Nick Bronson ties at Liberty
Woolrich in Soho
Trunk has the odd item of interest also on Chiltern St (at high prices!).
Bulldog and Wasp (in theory, not seen their shirts yet)
For the Italian related aspecs Boggi on Jermyn Street.
Shoes: Barker, Loake, Sebago shoe shops etc
Gant, RL, Lacoste
The place behind Marble Arch that does cotton ties and nice shirts (Taylors? I forget) is worth a look
Vintage Showroom in Covent Garden

How long before someone adds ......
"40 pounds ! - you were robbed- I'm half Slovakian and that's a rip off - you and your fancy Oi Polloi shops - back home you can pick up a pair of those for around £2 to £3 maximum"
I had to go to Other Shop to get these..as theu didnt have my size at oi...went down a whole size..and if you take the comfort sole out...theyre even looser.
Right, so this is how it be kids..
My pops would now be a Czech by birth.. Whereas my Auntie would be a Slovak.. Such was their constant moving around a lot in the terrible 30s in Czechoslovakia when that limp dick fuck off you you fucking fuckwad hoho Adolf was doing his pathetic best to sort out Europe!
My pops spoke Hungarian in the home as it goes.. His mother being a complete Hungarian Mentalist who moved him from both Czech & Slovak schools for teaching him anti Hungarian shizzle..
Before he came over here then he was staying in Bratislava with my Auntie Ilonka who some 28 years later would be making me laugh and make Yours Truly fall thru a glass door much to hers and everyone else's horror.. Yeah yeah.. Barely a scratch blah blah..
Anyhoo - it is with great pride today that I join the Big Bopper in to be lording it around town shortly in my new Novesta's..
He'll rip the piss of course, will Pops.. It's in the genes you know.. But they certainly are a pair of mad things in eyelets and no mistake..

I think the fact I turned up there so early meant everyone was still in need of some caffeine but the young manc kid that served me was great..knew his shit insideout, happy to help etc.. sometimes I find in these shops the staff are pretty up their arses but out of all the shops I visited in Soho that day everyone was pretty chilled and no douche baggery was to be had...even in Pretty Green the guys were sound...maybe it was just a good day
Here's a map I've been working on of 'Ivy' friendly London stores (plus a few bars and food stops).

I stumbled upon Hornets yesterday snuck behind the church on Kensington high street good for old vintage british macs and shoes...also a good stall on Portbello with a long line of macs in the Burberry, Daks persuasion
Garbstore is doing Free&Easy for a tenner..half the price I paid down in Brighton..excellent value for a magazine in a language I cant read...warning this last issue (Number 4) is quite heavy on interiors...not really my bag
