Did anyone ever try their slim fit shirts? How would you rate them compared to H&H?
Yes, "Tailored" are good. After awhile blue collars get worn. I only have one H&H, so I cannot be fair.
They are certainly as good. I believe still made in UK too.
My understanding is that they off-shored their shirt manufacture about 6 years ago. On second thoughts, I think that was Gieves & Hawkes.
Anyone tried Turnbull & Asser's Informalist shirt range?
I thought they were outsourced now..manly due to the fact they have concessions dotted about the place...maybe I've assumed wrongly though.

As of last March N&L were made in the UK. I have inquired since so can't speak beyond that.
Also made in UK, Thomas Pink believe it or not.

I've never tried any Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, but even at their incredibly low price, I'm too poor to throw money or myself out the window. Besides absence of gauntletbutton and refusal to do this alteration, why are these shirts so inexpensive and what is their drawback versus New & Lingwood?

^I don't fancy of the Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, certainly they don't entice from their website, perhaps it's the presentation? Their slim fit grey flannels look fairly decent for the price and worth a punt, me thinks.

Flannel trousers have never been the most hard-wearing of pants, but as for dancing, they worked for Fred Astaire.
Washable jackets are fine in the tropics and in summer, but are they really a winter option?
My H&H hat off to perfectionist Fred - I think he was of good Austrian descent who ended up in Kansas like Dorothy, but his movement wasn't eurythmic enough for our future - did he wear a lightweight flannell jacket, then he was at least so ahead of his time. I don't think so, his tailors unlike that mill expert and boss took responsibility.
I don't worry about freezing because I always wear a Favourbrook waistcoat and Icebreaker merino long underwear.
Besides the French tailor who patched the holes in my jacket caused by abrasion from leather straps of a heavily loaded Filson rucksack wanted to perform major surgery and extract its padded shoulders, which I never really liked anyway.

The Charles Tyrwhitt representatives told me if I don't like anything, return it. I'd prefer to know if I take the next shirt collar size 17 would be a mistake because all dimensions are bigger, but they insisted it makes no difference if I had the shirt sleeves altered to 31". That they woukdn't find another monster to buy the returned shirts, doesn't bother them!
If you are such flannel afficiandos, why don't you ask that lovely young lady who answers email inquiries when the next sale on trousers made in England at Merchant Fox is scheduled?

Oh yes, the Merchant Fox are just the ticket, but expensive if you always buy in two's.
The Coat of Arms pocket square they have on their website is perfect for displaying your dandy credentials. I like it.

The East India Company blazer buttons look good, but what is the point of this reference in the present?

The coming centuries, you think we have that long?
I tell you one thing, I'm gonna' get my sartorial kicks before the whole proverbial goes up in flames!

Back on shirts, anyone checked-out the "Savile Row Inspired" shirts from Marks & Spencer? Italian made of course!
I was in the store in the Hague and this shirt range looked ideal for work (if you're not into button-downs): the white and blue ones for €62 each.
