Re: Montpellier.

What a cracking place! Wonderful food, some great bars and the town is simply beautiful. Not too much of note clothing shops wise. We did stumble upon a Brooks Brothers store in the old city center which must be their most attractive in the world. There seems to be some sort of shoe fetish going on there, quite a number of good shoe shops. Has anyone ever purchased Finsbury footwear? Looked pretty good to me. We stayed at the Pullman, which was excellent. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace, and a dip in the pool afters. A view to behold as well. Service was wonderful. The airport is 20 minutes away by taxi (€20). Weather was, needless to say, super. If your thinking of a weekend break, Montpellier is worth a look.

The only downer was my french...its even worse than I remember. Though the good people of the town are far more accommodating and forgiving than those in Paris. Mrs W. and I plan to return.
