No surprise.
The sickest part of my mind likes the kid's plaid pants. The pennies are where it's at. But I'd never wear those pants or that jacket.
...UNLESS I wanted to utterly destroy a Halloween party.

Question for all the 70s prep historians here: Is the cord sack jacket something that came to prominence as a 70s prep item or was it seen in the late 50s, early 60s boom years?
My Dad used to wear those types of pants when he went to "play golf". He and his buddies always came back ripped. I'm sure golfing was a thin cover for other activities.
Funny because my dad was not native to the style. The son of coal miners from the upper south. Mom was the New Englander, but of the (near) teetotaling Puritan spirit. Dour isn't the word, but severely restrained is not an unfair description.
1975...but great!

Wouldn't put this on the ILSFT thread, but today I'm wearing:
L.L.Bean scotch plaid flannel shirt
O'Connell's shetland in pumice
Levi's 501s
Incontinence pants Stan Smiths, collegiate royal blue (call it dark navy.)
Cream-coloured D-ring belt
White sport socks
Green Elka jacket for the night
It was a nice, sunny winter's day.
The Stan Smiths are the usual 95% white. I already had some white/green Incontinence pants Roms so I went for another colour for the Stan Smiths. Don't know whether the jacket passes muster, but walking home in the icy rain I was glad I didn't wear the down vest.

(don't think I sported the same adventurous facial expression as the model though). Maybe I'm living under a rock but it's not that easy to find anything generic and well-made without verging into high-end/modern.
/\ Abs, that jacket looks great, good job, love it, want one, end of.
Rugged prep, know it when you see it.
Re the mostly white Stan Smith, I don't think they existed back then but so what
The overall look would be unmistakeable
Among the definitive late '70s prep sneakers were the white canvas/royal blue swoosh small rubber toe N!ke tennis sneakers, so palette-wise such a sneak would not be unfamiliar
/\ I've seen that pic before and I've got some issues with the guy on the left ....
primarily: what the hell is the deal with those loafers?
A
That's pretty nice stuff... Right up to my alley...
