I love discovering new stuff. Second discovery in a year, first being Tame Impala.
Dig it.

I wish I had those old Billy Preston singles. I love the stuff he did in the early 70s. Nothing from Nothing, etc.
Record store run today. Results (all used records): My Bloody Valentine ~ Loveless (2012 Creation Records 2xLP remix/repressing); Ramones ~ first LP (1976 original pressing, Sterling Stamper, with inner sleeve); Bob Dylan ~ New Morning.

/\ Ramones 1st LP original pressing = nice grab!
Yeh. It was a little pricey but I was in the mood. I bought that LP when it first came out and it fell victim to a thieving roommate. I've always wanted to replace it and this was just sitting there, so... what can you do?

Nice. That's one area of my collection could stand some expanding, the disco single. There's a lot I like from that genre/era, believe it or not.
1991 was a true watershed year. I loved it.
/\ ???? not counting all the crucial compilations, 1990-94 saw many great records by Public Enemy, Nirvana, Sonny Sharrock, P.M. Dawn, Digital Underground, Slick Rick, Cypress Hill, My Bloody Valentine, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, L.L. Cool J, Meat Puppets, Bob Dylan, Sonic Youth, Ministry, Eric B. & Rakim, Brand Nubian, Grand Puba, Soul II Soul, Fela, Youssou N'Dour, the Goats, Master Musicians of Jajouka, Ramones, Boogie Down Productions, De La Soul, Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan, Biz Markie, KRS-One, George Clinton, Butthole Surfers, Beck, Notorious B.I.G., Soundgarden, House of Pain, Technotronic, Beastie Boys, and many others .......
1990 through 1994/5 was an incredible time for music, without a doubt as interesting as the late 1970s punk breakout.
I'm with these fellas too , 90-94 has some epic stuff as outlined brilliantly by stan.
Add in all the Talkin' Loud stuff ( Young Disciples, Galliano and Brand New Heavies ),
Manchester early house and techno ( A Guy Called Gerald, 808 State, T-Coy),
All the post ecstasy rock boys linking up with post-ecstacy soul-boys Primal Screams Screamadelica and also the Boys Own/Flying Balearic stuff ( I urge you MBV fans to check out the Andrew Wetherall remix of 'soon').
The return of Terry Callier,
the first Bjork album,
2 Beastie Boy albums (Check Your Head and Ill Communications),
Tom Waits -Bone Machine,
the Ornette/Shore Naked Lunch soundtrack,
Gorecki Symphony No.3
and The Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy - Hypocracy Is The Greatest Luxury and their collab with WS Burroughs.
That's just off the top of my head
If you guys want on the road tales of MBV during that period you'll have to wait for my book
