Interesting interview with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, from a couple years back. It inspired an afternoon of record playing. There was one band he name-dropped I'd never heard of but might now have to search out: Metro Area.

Metro area is Morgan Geist- a techno guy from NYC. One of the first single they done was called Mira ( I think - metro area 4).. that was his best . Everything else is / was sos-so.
At the time it came out it was very unusual to use 80's beats / sounds in dance music , so it really stood out. Since then there's been a thousand copies of it .
