To echo Woof and Georgie, the toe is a bit bulbous, but the uppers are of robust quality and the soles are hard wearing yet hugely comfortable. Not for those looking for a Clarks dessie replica, but a superior product.

I like them. I've got a couple of pairs. More heft to them which makes them feel more substantial than Huttons or Clarks.

Driftflex seem more like Clarks Dessies. I never went over to either Huttons or Astorflex as I still rely on reduced price Clarks, but if I do it will be Astorflex as the quality seems awesome. I also like the company's CSR. I know Acton swears by Astorflex.

Just bought a pair in 'Dark Khaki'. £96 from 'The Hip Store' in Nottingham. Not as bad as it sounds. Lovely Japanese socks at £23 a time. Shoes seem very comfortable. Which is what counts when you get to be an old codger like me.

My advice would be, think about buying then putting on one side - if you are heading towards sixty (or are over, which I am). The feet can become tender. £96 for a lovely shoe - but how much do they make at the other end? I often think of this when seeing budget supermarket pasta or tinned tomatoes.

I've just bought a pair on Ebay. £45. A kind of sand colour which remind me a little of my old Dexter bucks. No red brick sole, though. Shaun at 'Wild' told me he'd bought a pair of the Dexter at TKMaxx in Derby - a source of astonishment to me as my few trips turned up bugger all.

I still got three pair of Clark’s Desert Boots: Sand, Tobacco, Chocolate.
When they are kaputt, I can justify buying a pair of Astorflex. Otherwise my wife will kill me or at least joke about me being a male Imelda Marcos.

All right, H, thank you. Not bad at all. A few aches and pains. But still enjoying the clothing, the music, the films. Food and drink. You know.
England is a mess. Nothing to do with Brexit, I assure you, it was a mess before. But I won't get political. T'ain't our thing, bro! (We're in for a hefty dose of inflation, mind, so those old natural shoulder jackets will be better than money. Imagine carting away a barrow-load of old Bass and Sebago just to buy a loaf of bread...). It's raining, so I'll be in most of the day, I guess, reading an excellent American 'tec set in 1950 (camelhair and cashmere jackets already mentioned), planning the main meal (pasta bake most likely), chewing the fat with my wife (hair now growing back after chemo), lazing in Madras, a darned cardigan and some inferior chinos.
Your good self?
