Help me again how this "look" in any way relates to what we are wearing today?
I have noticed the low rise trouser seems to be falling out of favour. Problem is it's been replaced by mid-rise or severely tapered 'pegs'. The relaxed nature of the early 50s West Coast is pretty timeless, having been kept alive by Surfers, Rockbillies and the more traditional element of the Cholo culture. I think Latino culture, obviously being huge in California has often influenced things?
It's quite difficult to trip over images of LA fashion in the late 40s to early 50s, I don't know if the baggy chinos was a hang over from zoom suits, or that's just the standard military fit, but the Latinos certainly liked things baggy

I'm guessing after so many twenty something's spent the best part of the early to mid 40's in Khaki's the fashion followed in the civilian life. Plus they were comfortable. I'm definitely a fan of that look for the middle of summer, if maybe with a slightly less loud Aloha shirt?
While all this is of historical interest no doubt, does anyone of you actually dress that way?
I really wish the West Coast/ Japanesse brand Yellow Rat was easier to get hold of in Europe. A lot of what they do is relevant to whats going on in this thread.
Unfortunately when Oipolloi did import them, they overpriced it and all the other importers seem to have stopped as well.
Unfortunately the owner doesn't seem interested in replying to potential customer e-mails either as has been discussed in other places in this forum?

The oi polloi stuff all went in the sale, I nearly bought the hi rise tapered chinos they had but London rent at the time had me brassic. Annoying that the stuff isn't easy to get online...
