From the BBC news website..
UK's 'least favourite clothing'
In brackets the percentages of people who disliked the item
Speedos - (69%)
Leather trousers - (63%)
Crocs - (59%)
Flares - (57%)
Clothes with elbow patches - (54%)
Tracksuit - (52%)
Red trousers - (51%)
Uggs - (51%)
Deep v-neck t-shirts - (49%)
Sweater vest - (49%)
I agree with most although I don't consider flares or track suits to be intrinsically offensive. Hell over the years I have had some track suits I have been deeply in love with. And flares look good on honeys imo.
At the risk of condemning the vast majority of the UK's over 50s, I would add fleeces to the list. Plus any trousers worn by men that expose their buttocks.
It's good to see red trousers on there, red shorts fine imo, but red trousers rarely look good on anyone
Personally I would add monk shoes to the list.

/\ I think people in the UK are specifically hating those cherry red Hooray Henry trousers, those are the ones we don't see here too much, but I guess Nantucket Reds, even though they're not actually red, probably do bother a fair number of people on both sides of the pond ... bottom line is that the douchebag quotient of the Nantucket Reds is high though opinions vary as always .....
Is this a round about way of saying you own a pair of red trousers...?
Tbf what it is, is that they don't suit everyone but because it's like you say an item that certain people wear to signal their standing you get groups of people wearing them en masse whether they suit them or not!

I would like to add shoes such as these to the list:

Sorry i meant woof mhalat!
/\ great pictures Beebs, Reds have never been my personal faves but you know that I run around in basketball and lacrosse shorts, t-shirts, and flips all the time and putting on actual sneakers, poplin walk shorts, and a long-sleeved t-shirt is dressing up for me, so there's that too but I agree with you that there are ways to wear Reds well, I've certainly seen my schoolmates wear them forever .... and they were all douches haha not really, the Deadheads were great ....
there are four sets, (1) people who don't wear Reds who aren't douchebags; (2) Reds wearers who aren't douchebags; (3) people who don't wear Reds who are still douchebags; and (4) Reds wearers who are big douchebags.
and a fifth set, non-Reds wearers who are big douchebags, which definitely includes meeeee
but you guys are in the second set of Reds wearers without any doubt and I love you for it, meanwhile that was a great clip mhalat .....
Updike really went for all the preppy clothing to an amazing degree did he not .....
Woof, Berkeley, LeeLo, Leer, all other wearers of the Reds, summer's coming, post those pics up when you get the notion

Trust me fellas.. I've never looked better in speedo's..
The Battle of the Bulge continues apace..
Never mind that. I damn near live in a cotton sweater vest from Lands End in the winter. Great layer without overheating in the typical American office, which is designed to gently poach the inmates.
I've never combined the sweater vest with faded red pants but I could if it would help.
