A good solution to the problem of vintage shirts that have shrunk a little ... or the wearer that has expanded a little. Obviously the latter wouldn't apply to a paragon of healthy living like you BB.
I originally bought a product called 'The Unstrangulator' which consisted of a little piece of clear plastic that hooked into the collar buttonhole and around the button to increase the neck size. It was a bit fiddly to put on and not very user friendly.
Then I saw some like the ones in your picture, they are a lot easier to use and more comfortable to wear. They stay done up too.
Yes, I too have used the Amazon Extender.
After my abduction by aliens and subsequent return, I was basically unharmed except for weight gain.
I was forced to sell or donate a lot of clothes because I couldn't use them. I kept the old 16.5 neck Mercers because they are baggy enough to wear as sport shirts, but just about everything else was replaced with 17.5s and XL sport shirts. This has taken some considerable time. Never mind pants and jackets and suits and...
That's why I was happy to discover Natty shirts. I got 17.75 inch necks from them, on the theory they'd shrink a bit. And they did.
Anyhoo now I am on a ferocious anti-alien weight reduction program. I am building a wall between me and the ice cream case at the grocery store, for instance. A big beautiful wall that exists only in my mind.
But I fear the days of the 16.5 inch neck and 35 inch waist are long gone. I am a solid citizen now.
The collar thingies do work up to a point. You can't get an extra inch out of them, but if an old favorite is just a tad tight then you're in business.
