Advice for the far East

In a couple of weeks I will be going on a Holiday/Vacation of my dreams.
No, not to buffalo just  specifically to shop at O'Connell's ( it still is on the bucket list).
I am off to Hong Kong(5 nights) then a cruise along "God damn" Vietnam and then two nights in Singapore.

I am seriously thinking of getting something made in Hong Kong.

Any experience of this guys ?

Not really 100% relevant, but came across this vintage Hong Kong-made tuxedo on Etsy. Not my style, but all the details are fun to look at.

Re: Advice for the far East

Approx. 15 years ago I went to Italian Tailor (I don't have the address but it was in an indoor shopping centre as I recall, and not on the ground floor) and had some trousers and shirts made. Unfortunately it was many years before I went ivy therefore I can't comment on how they would cope with a sack suit however as I recall they made everything exactly as requested. I think the trousers were a copy of some I gave them and they came out exactly like the original version, so I suggest you take in your favourite Brooks suit and see how they get on. Whether or not they will have an appropriate cloth though I have no idea. Quite possibly.

Re: Advice for the far East

I was in Kowloon a few years back and was recommended a tailor called "ritikush" by a friend.

I too was in HK for just 5 days, so I primed him up in advance by email and arranged a meeting at his suite which is located in a shopping mall style building.

I gave him a few shirts to copy and chose the material, and within a few days I had them copied for a price of around 22 pounds each after the exchange rate.

His English is fluent, and I found him very friendly and helpful.

Hope this may be of use.
