Not that I ever posted here much but FB/Instagram missing both the wit and critical/cultural analysis that kept me coming back to this forum. The pictures of people at church/yachting/country club on the various FB groups really speak a 1000 words.
Hoping to get back on track soon.
I could start a thread on the IS FB page, which really is beyond belief, but I'd rather not invest the time in negativity. And to be fair there is at least one pretty good poster on there.

I was banned from the IS FB page because I disagreed with that sanctimonious ‘giganta woke’ prick who runs it.
Imagine it, me banned from a clothing website, pah!
Hopefully back in business, Woof.
Odd, my elder daughter is into all that FB crap whereas the younger daughter is very sniffy about it. I always thought Instagram was for teenage girls but that probably displays my lack of awareness. All too slick and representing the wrong side of American culture for my liking.
Some of the old names from here are on 'Dressedwell'. I was amused - and kind of baffled - to read that I was either a. Jimmy Frost-Mellor or b. an invention of that tormented soul. The site looks pretty naff to me - but then I am just a humble cheese and onion sandwich eating northern monkey.
This really reminds me of the Blues Brothers when they're getting the band back together.
Incidentally I think, more than anywhere, Instagram is where a lot of our former stars have ended up. Honourable mentions for BB who is doing some superb historical work, and OCBD who appears to have found his own summer of love i.e. he's more casual than before and looks better than ever. (Although some might say that he could do with a haircut.)

Also FB does have a couple of very good groups: the Roll Call still going strong (run by our own Bop I believe) and the Ivy League Group, which actually focuses on ivy clothing.
Sure, if they're too cool for school they'll ignore this. If not... there are a lot of chaps I'd love to see back here...
Bop still posts on the interwebs? Send him over to Dressed Well, I need a laugh
I don't know of his posting anywhere nowadays. I think he's a successful artist though. Even IS did a piece on him.

I had a look at Dressed Well. Seems certain posters on here are hated. Particularly BB - who's one of my favourites. Someone mentioned 'that bongo player' which I think must be me. I was faking it as a bongo player back then however over the last year I have started to take it seriously, and have made some progress. My goal is to be good enough to join a decent band by the end of the year.
Playing any instrument well is a fine ambition; just like learning a foreign language. Toffeeman/GG is fairly fluent in Italian, I think. Depresses me to be abroad and waiters thinking I must want egg and chips.
Becoming bilingual a few years ago changed my life completely (no exaggeration). I wish I'd done it earlier but obviously, better late than never.
I decided years ago to leave musical instruments to those to whom they come naturally, but in the end knowing that with persistence I can reach a reasonable level meant I couldn't resist.

Spanish? We have a rather attractive Welsh lady in our street who is a former teacher of Spanish and also speaks pretty fair Welsh. I'd have liked to have learned French at a young age. One was rather discouraged. The English - needless to say - are highly insular. Well, you already know that.
Becoming a Latin music fanatic gave me the impetus to learn Spanish. Once I got good I ended up emigrating to Latin America (3 years ago). I'd love to learn another language too but I think it's better to invest my time talking crap on this forum.
I don't believe anyone on DW has any particular animus towards you Yuca, but I haven't looked all that closely.
Berkhead is indeed a bit of sore point though.
I didn't read anything negative about me. Or anything positive, for that matter. In fact I just spotted a couple of passing mentions - which is fine by me.
Ah, gotcha.
It has been noted. Elsewhere. By some nice chaps who used to be on here. Well, one or two anyway.
'Dressedwell' is very slick, very well put together - and, from the few glimpses I've had of it, rather dull. Ivy? Or 'sharp'? Or 'tailored'? What 'The Wardrobe' used to be? I don't know, I never ventured over there (to their collective relief I should think). I wish them well.
For the record, Andy did not fall in love with a lady of the night but with a Ph.D in Classics who happened to work for the NHS. Some people do talk b***s.
Like the 'New Statesman', DW limits the number of pages you can view. Just as you get to the juicy bits it chucks you off.
