Take It Or Leave It: Work Wear

Saw a few items yesterday.  I never could take to some of it, not wanting to look like a garage mechanic.  The furthest I went was Filson - and I tired of that - but saw it in some kind of 'line of succession' to Pendleton and Woolrich.  But none of it fitted with the softer image I wanted to get over: cotton, cashmere predominating.  Does it still have its devotees?

Leave it.  Can work on others, but got to carry that young 'I make my own metal goods' look about you.

When I first saw 'the look' at a Norwegian run bar in Holland Park, London back in about 2010 with all the heavy denim, work wear jackets, big boots/Redwing , tattos and huge beards I was kind of dazed.  What the hell is all this I thought?  The drinks were all bespoke and so were the prices.

It was the future writ large.
