Maybe not much use unless you know the area but this 'hidden gem' (not my phrase) of a shoe-repairer assured me he can work wonders with crepe soles - this after I'd binned my favourite Italian desert boots. 
They worked miracles on my (fairly ancient) cordo wingtips, making them look pretty much like new for £85.
Already passed a bit of info on to Stax, who does visit Derbyshire.  If any of you venture on occasion to the Smedley factory shop it might be worth considering.  I guess they would do the work then post them back to you.
Third generation cobblers.  I wonder what The Weejun would have thought of that.
