Re: What's Just Popped Through Your Letterbox?

Community Clothing:
I’ve bought a couple of pairs of sweatshirt bottoms for household lounging. They were on the big side and I had to size down. But the quality is fantastic and they will probably last me for ever. I would expect their sweatshirts to be the same.
Knitwear is great, I’ve had a couple of saddle shoulder lambswool crew necks and they are like M&S used to be fifty years ago, nuff said.
Socks are equally good, I’ve got a few pairs of their sports socks. Also ribbed cotton socks in white and various bright colours. The quality is as good as Japanese ones for which you would pay £25 a pair for in trendy menswear shops.
I’m currently undergoing a pink sock phase and also red socks with black loafers.

Re: What's Just Popped Through Your Letterbox?

It was a cotton jacket/blazer I had before - the issue on fit is mine not theirs - I have an Irish rugby player shape as with my father (who is from Ireland). Big shoulders and chest but shorter height means a lot of things do not fit me in UK. The stitching being not quite all it could of been was on the raincoat. Hopefully just a one off.

Good to hear your harrington was right.

Kamakura Graham Marsh shirts- Which one of you buggers has bought up all the shirts that have just arrived at Marrkt today? I would have bought them, but I need another BD shirt as much as I need another hole in my head. At least my bank account will remain healthy and my missus will not do me any serious damage

Robbie- I also saw them and thought the same! Today I ‘ pulled-the-trigger’ on a pair of Paraboot Adonis  loafers, I convinced myself I needed them for the comfort element  as I a) have feet problems, b) I’ve recently moved on 2 pairs of loafers which weren’t comfortable to wear anymore, c) I still had some ‘ EBay money’ in my bank account to put to the cost and ease my ‘ buyers guilt’ , should arrive next week, hopefully they’ll work for me ......

Robbie- cafe - which will work better with my various trousers, after shifting out 6 pairs of shoes/ boots in the last couple of years I’m left with just one pair of black shoes , Rancourt loafers from 46CS from about 10 years ago, TBH 1 pair in black is enough for me these days,

Re: What's Just Popped Through Your Letterbox?

Stax,

I was in Paris last year and dragged my family around the sites - the three factory owned Paraboot stores.

Having bought a pair of Reims and the deck shoe like loafer I thought a third pair would of been greedy.

The third pair on my list was Adonis. In the stores they had the most amazing burnished finish with shades of black and burgundy coming through.

On UK stockist websites they look a flat brown shade.

When they arrive can you let me know what the finish is please

Re: What's Just Popped Through Your Letterbox?

Hi Alvey, for sure I'll let you know what the finish looks like, I've been tracking the adonis for some time now, I have the deck like loafers and have been pleased with them, I'm not a fan of the thick soled Paraboots so the adonis suited my taste, an added bonus is there isn't any label sticking out, I think Trunk are the only UK retailer stocking them, I put my name on their waiting list and they emailed me a couple of weeks ago saying they were back in stock , when I looked again this week they only had them left in 7.5 (my size luckily) and 10, all the others had sold out, I did email JS a few months back to see if they were going to stock the adonis but received a very polite reply saying no, you may or may not know you can only order Paraboot from Trunk online, probably something to do with them being in the same street as JS, probably works the other way with Gitman shirts which Trunk stock and I'm sure JS would like to stock, BTW you have a very understanding & patient family !

Re: What's Just Popped Through Your Letterbox?

The Adonis Loafers arrived today- beautiful shoes, I’ve mentioned before I suffer with foot problems, but on first try ons I think they will be ok, I really hope so , fit is ‘true to size ‘,
Alvey - I would say your description of ‘flat brown ‘ is accurate, I tried them against various trousers and they seemed to work with most, I’d go as far to say even  my one pair of ‘dress trousers ‘ which are darkish charcoal from. Brookes Bros a dozen years ago,
RG - yes very similar to the JMW’s although I’ve never seen them in the flesh to my knowledge,
So it’s a thumbs up from me for the Adonis loafers, I hope I don’t have to kid myself the fit is good !
