I've got:
LL Bean barn coat with zip insulated liner. Not so good if it's wet.
LL Bean down jacket.
A waxed cotton jacket with insulated liner. Forget the brand, it's a knock-off but quite functional.
A lined tan denim windbreaker that's big enough to wear a thinnish sweater underneath
A London Fog trench coat with a zip liner, although I am not sure where the liner is.
Then there's a pile of odds and ends that I should really get rid of because I don't use them.
In winter I'm more worried about traction. I can always cobble something together for the torso.
Wore the Gloverall out this afternoon and was glad of it. A leisurely walk round a local park, supplementing this damn diet of mine. I also wore one of my collection of college scarves, a Woolrich shirt and this newly-acquired old Russell sweatshirt I'm already very fond of. Not the kind of weather yet which brings tears to your eyes and chews off your ears into the bargain. But it'll probably come. I've got a few bags of rock salt stored in my porch.
I've now got eight - including a very spiffy Grenfell overcoat with a cord collar. Very George Sanders.
Ended up donating a lot of cold weather coats that didn't get worn. And boy was there a lot of dust where those jackets were hanging.

I've added since: two Baracuta, including a trenchcoat, a very charming Grenfell and now this Aquascutum.
I well remember their shop in Manchester, when I lived in Salford between 1981 and 1983. It looked eye-wateringly expensive. Is it true that all their English shops have closed down?
Is Aquascutum more highly regarded than Burberrys'? It certainly seems more 'beneath the radar'. As much as Grenfell?
I saw a nice raincoat made by Barbour last autumn, knocked down in a sale, but I'm pretty suspicious of Barbour on several levels.
^ I would see Aquascutum as being on a par with Burberry. Aquascutum also tried to make themselves into a fashion brand but without the same degree of success. Yes all the shops are gone and the brand name sold to a Chinese outfit to wring the last few quid out of it. All about the brand here:

But then it say online shopping is only available in China.
