Arthur Frommer's Guide To New York 1964

This is a slim paperback, published to coincide with the tourist influx for the 1964 World's Fair.  You'll find references here to Brooks and Press on Madison Avenue and to Paul Stuart just around the corner.  The words 'Ivy League' in connection with Brooks and Press crop up - Paul Stuart is regarded as a little less conservative in its approach.
I find all literature on New York in this period stimulating and this little guide (which is fairly easily available from the usual online sellers) might make for a painless way of killling time on a flight.
