I find myself looking less for clothing tagged 'Ivy League' (on Ebay, mostly) than ever before. It's perhaps now too overground for my liking. In fact, I'm developing a taste for old, classic English tailoring (although this seems as difficult to find in decent condition than anything else. Rips, tears, holes, flaws, loose stitching etc. all seem to abound). Certainly I keep my eye on the shoulders of the jackets, but the USA-made Stanley Blacker I bought at the beginning of the year proved to be a disappointment and was never worn. The problem (darts aside) was with the shoulders.
I still like an American made shoe, however. Very pleased with the Jarman smooths that turned up last week.
But I suppose I always went in for an element of this, and kept an open mind, even at the beginning.
The Invertere jacket I bought recently has turned out to be one of my favourite items. Devonian of course.
