The Awning Stripe

I'm indebted to a former poster for drawing my attention to this phrase.  I'd tended to think of some shirts as having a kind of 'deckchair' stripe - the first Hatrford I bought at Russell Street was not unlike this and I was sorry that I outgrew it.  B.D.Baggies have certainly offered some but they're hugely variable in quality.
The 60s Brooks I bought recently seems to qualify as an 'awning' stripe: red and green on yellow.  In fact, I've been pondering just how to wear it...  what to wear it with...  I think more or less cream-coloured cords or wheat jeans might do it...  sockless for summer...  and with a pair of those J.M.Weston loafers that were once so despised (as Euro-trash) on here circa 2009.
I still prefer a Makers candy.  Still looking for another with a pale green stripe.
