Well, perhaps not quite so many, but today, most of the day, I've been wearing an old Alan Paine v-neck cashmere sweater in what I think of as 'schoolboy grey'. In fact, I remember wearing it in the rather posh school I was working in in 2009 and feeling slightly self-conscious.
Recently, I saw a Shaggy Dog being auctioned on Ebay Com., the colour of which was described as 'cement'. I rather like that.
Good for jackets, knitwear and trousers but not good for shirts and odd when it comes to shoes (although I owned a pair of grey shoes back in 1978).
One of our great former posters, Harpo, the Welsh Blues enthusiast, once commented on the pale grey Shetland/dark denim look. He liked it and I think he was spot on in his judgement. It's refined, restrained; works well with a pale yellow Makes beneath.
I also recall a favourite London Fog G4 that looked positively John Major-ish it was so grey.
As someone almost once but not quite sang, Sing If You're Glad To Be Grey...
But carefully does it.
There was me thinking this was going to be a post about how AFS likes to be blindfolded and tied up, while his wife peruses ebay buying polyester twin-sets.
Mrs.AFS is a woman of little taste or sophistication, that's true. In fact, that's the reason she got tied up (happy now, Tim, you pervert?) with AFS. He exacts his terrible revenge on her Ebay perusing by playing modal jazz at maximum volume day and night.
My little girlfriend of a few years back wore hold-ups and Victoria's Secret undies. Picture that.
