Just thinking about one of our posters being informed by John Lally at the Ivy Shop that black strides were worn only by waiters...
I tried black and light grey jeans. Yuca was dubious - and turned out to be correct in his assessment.
So it's mostly blue and brown (various shades of) with a touch of dark grey.
I recently spotted some lime green chinos on Ebay. Not, I don't think, a look for the UK. Nantucket Reds seem to find no favour (although I've seen them on Bretons and they looked pretty good).
Here we are, then, stuck with Levis, chinos or cords. For the most part.
Or am I missing something vital?
Oh - white Levis. Something of a minority taste perhaps.
I wish I could find another pair of the off-white Levis chinos I once owned.
Wheat sounds nice. Never found any.
I forgot to mention olive: favoured by JFM for cords.
In fact, JFM chose well: olive is a very lovely colour for cords and jackets.
Olive cottons and a (Brooks) pink OCBD.
Heavenly!
JFM once spoke of The Guv'Nor wearing a pair of cords that were more or less cream in colour. That appeals.
