Re: Five Pocket Cords

I've just taken delivery of a pair of the Kamakura 5-pockets, and though I've only tried them on for size so far, my first impressions are that they're excellent — at least as good as the old LVC 519s. The Bedford cloth is heavyweight and feels like it'll last, and the cut is spot on, with perhaps the best rise I've seen off the peg and a lovely taper. I would post pics, but let's not get started on that again!…

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Argh, totally forgot All Blues Co have stock in Leeds – had a delay to my train the other week and could have gone check them out.

Gotta say they looked good in the look book, shame LVC messed with the original block and updated to a lower rise.

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Yeah, I got these from All Blues. I've had good experiences buying direct from the Kamakura website too though. They're rapidly becoming one of my favourite makers.

Re: Five Pocket Cords

What's the rise like on them? I'm 6'3, so high rise often comes out mid rise for me!

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Thanks, SB. Too short for me....but they do look good. TBH, that's the issue with most Kamakura stuff for me!

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Still struggling to find a suitable pair of 5 pocket cords, had the Lands End wore them a couple of times washed them for shrinkage but they have been returned and refunded, ( as always great customer service from LE), FOB are outside my self imposed price range, one of our kind contributors suggested I buy FOB direct from a Japanese site he'd had good experience with, but tbh I wasn't sure about the colour and it'd be a faff to return if the fit wasn't right, maybe I need to drag myself into town and try a few pairs at various suppliers,

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Not 5 pocket cords but I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of Kamakura Take Ivy Five-Pocket Pants direct from Kamakura in Japan, 40% off, I checked the sizing closely and I'm fairly confident they'll work, can't return them as they were in the sale, if they don't work I'll be listing them on here !

FSC - as an aside I'd just ordered these and then noticed your NOS Liberto 5 pockets of the ILG, I'd probably have taken a pair of them off you otherwise, those youngsters over on ILG don't know what they're missing out on with the Liberto's, I still have a pair in olive from yonks ago which are still in service,

Re: Five Pocket Cords

What size did you go for in the kamakura, staxfan? Intrigued by them but doubt they'll be high enough in the rise for me

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Colin - 32" waist, their size chart shows the front rise as 11.2" which would be plenty for me, I'll report back once I've received them,

Re: Five Pocket Cords

I have a pair of Kamakura Take Ivy Five Pocket Jeans ( by far my favourite jeans) and the Take Ivy Five Pocket Pants. The rise for me is fine for both, but had to size up for the pants.

Re: Five Pocket Cords

Ematt - ' but had to size up for the pants ' - You had me worried as they were non-returnable (final sale)..... however they arrived today.. and I'm pleased to say the fit is good for me, if I ordered again I'd probably size up to the 33" waist for a little extra eating/drinking room, but everywhere else the fit is excellent, through the thigh, knee & backside , perfect leg opening,
