Thought it may be intresting to hear others confessions.
When I was at university in Edinburgh- I went into Jenners -to buy some new jeans-they carried a range of Hugo Boss denim.
I picked up 3 pairs to try on -and went -to the dressing room.
after making my selection -I returned to the shop floor to place 2 pairs back and proceed to the cash till to pay for my purchase- at which point I bumped into some friends- after a brief discussion it was decided that we would head to a bar to watch one of the Rugby internationals-with this distration I walked straight out of the shop with the jeans folded over my arm- I had no intent to shop lift -it was purely a moment of forgetfulness-however I did have the choice of returning and paying for the jeans -today I would have no hessitation in doing that very thing -but back then -well - so I confess to being a one time accidental shop lifter.
Pride of place in my study goes to a Bobbys helmet which was stolen in drunken revellry from a policemans head in Richmond after an Ireland versus England international at Twickenham.
I should point out no police officer was harmed in the act of removing the helmet from his head and at the time we regarded it as drunken high spirits.
Dominic tried to take his walkie talkie in the same incident but- came away empty handed.
His intent was to cause confusion and mayhem by filling the air waves with false incidents and reports to oher officers and the control room with the stolen equipment.
I guess somethings never change.
I'll be by Jenners this afternoon. Good to know security is so tight there.
