Very nice. I am also a fan of short sleeved shirts in the summer. Brownshoe and I were two of the very few that spoke up for them over on the trad forum. I do often roll the sleeves on my button downs, but short sleeves are a nice change of pace.

... And going commando in August is great too!
Wash. Wear clean clothes. Wash your clothes often. Why not?
I wouldn't do it with a suit, cords, or flannels, but Khakis, shorts, Seersucker et al, can damn well take it.
There should be a boxerless rule like there's a sockless rule. No?

When I was in New Zealand, earlier this year the standard shirt in the countryside ( most of New Zealand is country side) was short sleved aertex shorts, with putty coloured moleskin trousers and RM william style boots. A good look imho, DougNZ will be able to elaborate more.
I'm a huge fan of short-sleeve shirts for casual wear especially during the Summer. Well-fitting, short-sleeve shirts made with e.g. Irish linen or a Riva cotton linen oxford in vivid colors are ultra-chic.
It's short sleeves weather here again:
Today - an untucked fly-fronted pale grey M & S tropical shirt in viscose (I still hesitate to say 'camp shirt', it conjures up images of something frilly and pastel) .
Along with white/burgundy Dunlop Green Flash tennies, no socks, faded red (pink really) jeans. Navy cord blazer for the walk to work at 6:45 am.

I like this medium grey flannel.

Today's short-sleeve shirt's a faded red, green and beige foulard pattern on a dark blue background. Silk and from Singapore, a couple of seams beginning to disintegrate. Worn untucked and unbuttoned over a grey marl T-shirt. Faded khakis, sockless brown driving mocs.
Felt like that scruffier world-weary look today, dammit.
^ I have no probs with it either, for summer & hot weather at least. The iGents really hate short sleeved shirts, but then they sit in the back of their air conditioned Rolls Royces anyway.
we are what we are. we try our best. probably we have no shot. But we do try to teach. that is what this site is ultimately about.
Short-sleeved shirt of the day, motivated by recent discussions at ATF:
Hilo Hattie aloha shirt (cotton, relatively subdued green/white/black with a touch of brown, palm tree motif. Coconut shell buttons)
faded rumpled old khakis
dark brown penny loafers, sockless
