These guys know what they are doing, and generally dress very conservatively. I guess that's why I was surprised by the "novelty" tie thing this far out from Christmas.

Otherwise I also noticed a fair number of BDs with the ties. Most of them stick to the blues and greys for jackets, but one guy favours a brownish palette (tan through chocolate) and it looks surprisingly good.

This poses a problem for the Internet Gentleman: Does he knuckle under like the careerist striver that he is and wear a festive print tie like everyone else? Or does he insist on wearing a proper tie that is correct for the well-dressed gentleman? How many thousands of words will he post on the interweb asking what to do?
