I have avoided the blazer with chino look for a while, but I'm just starting to keep some creased BB khakis - so I'll probably play with it for fun.
I have two tropical blazers - Southwick and Brooks, and one flannel - Southwick. The days when hopsack was considered a summer weight fabric must have been before the widespread use of tropical weights. I like hopsack but would only be able to use it in transitional seasons.
Years ago I had a navy linen jacket with off white buttons. 3 patches. This I would like to own again.
Thanks to a very helpful bloke at SF, I'm wearing my Brooks blazer today - and it's a beaut; a 3 roll to 2 sack with patch and flap pockets.
Today's get-up is sand desert boots, navy cotton socks, darkish rolled-up jeans, cracked old brown leather belt with brass buckle, and écru BD.
Good show, chum. I'm thinking of starting to wear yellow socks. I know it's an affected look (for me), but I started wearing brown socks, and had never really done so before, and might get a li'l crazy with the colors now.
I'm in the market for another (lightweight) blazer and I regret that neither the current Brooks option (super 120s, egad), or the NFL linebacker cheapo Press really fits the bill.
Maybe I'll get a new hopsack with crazy lining.
